Izuha

Taking a slight break from comic pages to do a character draw up. So this is a new character that will soon be debuting in chapter 24, for that matter she can be seen on the cover. This is Izuha, who was a character intially designed to be just a minor character as one of Hideyoshi’s many pupils. However while writing the script, I wound up developing her into a more fleshed out character as a way for Kalwa to learn about the students and the history of where she’s staying. Anyway, watch for her in the coming pages coming up.

Pencils for Ch 24 pg 1

It’s beginning everyone, I went out yesterday with some friends abs kinda spent the day out. But I did do at least three mock up pages for the next chapter, and page one has been fully pencilled. Here’s a shot of what we got going and what to expect.

Character Art Gallery

I spent the whole day yesterday writing the script to chapter 24 and just crashed and burned at the end of the day. So right now I really got nothing to post for you al to enjoy. So to fill the void, I’m doing a repost of character artwork for characters other than Kalwa, including some of the really older ones from a couple years ago such as Bridgette and Cassidy. All of these are available to view in the art gallery as well, anyway I hope this entertains everyone as I work to get some more stuff up. I’ll be reviewing chapter 24 one more time tomorrow before sending it over to my co-writer.

Taking her out?

A bit of a sequel to the red dress drawing titled “care to dance” from a few years ago, the same one that was recently reposted for Valentines Day. I also wanted to do something with fireworks because I’ve been completely obsessed with the main theme song from the anime movie.

Kaliesha Character Art

It’s another character art today, this is time it’s Kaliesha who originally debuted in chapter 12, introduced as the secret captain of the pirate hunters. She’s also a single mother who’s is highly protective of her children Amoy and Akoni. Kaliesha herself was actually based off an old boss I had who was a hardworker with a kid of her own. I’d watch her attend to both her job and her kid, and I had such great respect for her. When we were writing the pirate story arch, Kaliesha was the first character I came up with, though it was my co-writer who named her and all of her crewmates.

The flames were a last minute choice, I kinda developed them after I was playing around with the shadow and started getting a red hue. I thought the intense flames would help to emphasize her protective mother side and just how strong a character she is when it comes to protecting her kids.

Kalwa Rising Sun

A little piece to help kick off the Japanese story arch!!! This will actually be used as the profile picture for the facebook page hence why it was important to have the Pygota with the rising sun, which was actually meant to be a symbol for the country she’s in given the famous rising sun flag.

Illustration of the Day!

This was the first of the Kalwa Anime crossover, featuring Kalwa in the Dr. Stone world. The idea just came to me while I was drawing Kohaku from the show (seen on the green raptor site) about how Kalwa would look if she ever crossed over her and thus began this crossover series that I’m currently working to finish. Also it was real fun drawing Kalwa in cave woman garbs.

Stone World Kalwa

One Piece Kalwa

Third entry in the Kalwa in Anime series, this entry is if Kalwa lived in the One Piece world, ironically this started off as an illustration with nothing before exploding in a wild storm of posing and action affects. Only two more left in the anime illustration series.

Reverse Roles

So this idea just came to me yesterday and I just had to make it a reality. This is a revers role illustration of what the series would look like if Reko was the eccentric one with the phone and Kalwa was the head smart tech girl with the glasses. Actually kinda liking the glasses Kalwa quite a bit, she was actually based on Barbra Gordan as she appeared in Arkham Origins! Reko kinda came out looking a bit like Sora from Kingdom Hearts, though he was actually based a bit more off Yoshimori from Kekkaishi, a show I’ve only watched a few times.
