Yet another milestone hit today. We got 20 followers (21 actually), which is a great milestone from where we were before. This year has really been a pickup for the site, more traffic and more readers, so it’s really feeling like all the work me and my co-writer have been doing is really starting to pay off. So I want to say thank you to everyone who follows this site and the support you give. It’s all very much appreciated by the two of us!!! Thank you so much!
Happy Halloween everyone, hope you all enjoy the day and get plenty of sugar in your system (lol). Well here’s a special celebration drawing for the year. I’ve been posting some teasers of this in previous weeks but wanted to hold it back for this particular day.
So a little commentary is that I’m a MAJOR Naruto fan, or at least I am of the manga, I kinda like the anime but not by a whole lot. In fact I have three books fo artwork right next to my desk, and actually Kishimoto has actually been a great influence on my coloring style. Naruto himself is my favorite fictional character alongside Peter Parker, and he just had a birthday earlier this month. So this year, I’m dressing my own characters as a tribute and Halloween celebration, poor Reko had to get stuck dressed as Sasuke. Once again everyone, happy Halloween everyone and eat some Candy Corn for me.
So this week, I started taking my sketchbook to work to draw at lunchtime, since I tend to finish my lunch rather fast and hate just sitting around for about forty minutes doing nothing, plus it’s gotten kinda hard to draw at home amongst everything else I do. So this week, the idea came to mind to draw the main cast if they were of the opposite gender, a gender swap if you will. The original sketch has been uploaded to the facebook page, so if you follow us there you might off seen it. Exclusively here on the site for now, is colored versions of the characters gender swapped, complete with their alternate names for their new genders. So if you like gender swaps, well here’s what our heroes would look like.
I just got the notification that this website has officially hit 200 likes! Don’t know how big that is compared to others but it’s a pretty good milestone for us! So I wanted to give a big thank you to the followers and supporters out there who consistently support this site! Thank you so much!
Consider this my belated birthday tribute to Naruto, as I feel so bad having not done anything for his birthday earlier this month. Naruto himself is actually my favorite anime/manga character of all time, I actually have all 73 books of his series, as well as a number of figures around my room, so I’ve been meaning to do this crossover for quite some time. Also I should note that Kalwa’s favorite color is orange, I actually chose the color to represent her because it’s bright and energetic. This actually kinda puts her a bit on par with Naruto who quite well known for his orange color. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys this piece.
Chapter 25 is coming everyone. The script is being written, usually I try to write the script in two days (that I have off) and then try to distance a bit from it for a while before doing a final check on it. So expect the next chapter to start up in early to mid Novemeber. Meanwhile here’s a little preview of the cover as to where it stands and I’ll be uploading some more sketches and some other illustrations coming.
Earlier today I posted one preview of chapter 25 by showing off the child versions of Hideyoshi and Karou. Well here comes another preview with the actual cover… at least where it stands now. I’ve had this image in my brain all week and despite wanting to rest a bit tonight from drawing (I hurt my hand working on another work last night), I just had to get it out.
Full disclaimer that this isn’t an actual scene from the chapter, but the chapter is about Kalwa learning fault and overcoming it, so it’s kinda a metaphor you could say. I don’t think every chapter has to actually have a scene from the chapter on it, but make an enticing image that does say something about the story it represents.
Hello again everyone, back with a bit of an update. So I’ve been a bit busy recently working on Halloween related stuff both for this site and the Green Raptor site. In fact I actually get kinda stressed this time of the year because I feel a great deal of pressure trying to get Halloween related stuff out before the big holiday, which is especially stressful when I got a chapter to work on in addition to all that.
Fortunately it’s all done, and I’ll get to writing the script to the next chapter next week, as well as get cover designs going. To give you all a little preview and show you some work, here’s a work straight from the sketchbook. So we’ve spent two chapters thus far in Japan at the fortress of Hideyoshi and his wife Karou. Well next chapter you’ll get to see them as children and the origins of their home will be revealed. These are the first sketches of them as kids, though I think there will be some slight changes before the final product. So enjoy this sneak preview of what you’ll see, straight from the sketchbook.
There’s a couple of things I’ve got to address at the moment just to keep everyone in the loop right now as to what’s going on and how updates are going. So here’s a list to talk about.
Simple update on the halloween drawing. I already uploaded a small preview and I’m uploading another one right now. The piece is mainly finished, but of course it will not go up till Halloween. So be on the lookout for that on Sunday the 31st.
I just sent the last two dialogue sheets to my co-writer for review. To keep you all in the loop the first published volume will contain chapters 1-5. It will have some modifications to to old artwork and touch ups to dialogue. We are looking for an ebook amazon publication for the month of December with physical books sometime early next year. More on that as we get closer.
I haven’t started work on the script yet, I’ve had to work heavy hours at my day job, and then my time has been occupied doing Halloween related art for both Kalwa and the Green Raptor Site. I’ve got one more piece to do excluding the Kalwa piece I keep mentioning. Plus I had to do the work for publication. Once the last of the Halloween stuff is done I’ll get going on the script. If I focus, the script should be finished by the end of October and we will hopefully start rolling on the next chapter in November, I will keep you posted on that.
I’ve been pretty bad at uploading this mainly because I’m so busy on other stuff and of course I’m at work most days. But I”ll try to scan them in and show them off on the site, possibly even get a few scanned in the next two days.
That’s all I got to report, just wanted to give you all an update.
